TRUTV FEATURES GOSPEL MIME JOSIAH MOORE IN NEW COMPETITION SERIES

Ten teams of extraordinary performers are setting out to wow viewers in truTV’s amazing new competition series “Fake Off.” The program sucks the audience into the visually stunning world of faking – a mix of theater, acrobatics, black light and illusion. In this unique elimination series, teams are challenged to re-imagine iconic moments in pop culture to see who’s got the skills to become a Fake Off Champions and win a top prize of $100,000.

The teams competing on “Fake Off” come from a wide range of disciplines. Some specialize in complex body movement like street dancing, shadow dancing or acrobatics, while others create spectacular illusions through the use of technology like UV lights, video projection or electroluminescent wire. YFX, a theatrical mime and illusion group from Detroit, Michigan features 25-year old gospel mime, Josiah Moore who’s been a professional pantomimist since the age of twelve.

“Mime is my life,” laughs Josiah Moore, a Lansing, Michigan native who does workshops and mime performances around the country. “I see being a member of YFX and Fake Off as an opportunity to stretch myself as a physical artist and to also introduce them to who I am and my culture.”

“Fake Off” is hosted by actor/dancer Rob Hoffman of “90210” fame. Each week’s competition will be judged by a panel that includes Harry Shum Jr. of Fox TV’s “Glee,” Grammy winner Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas of the Pop trio TLC; and concept designer Michael Curry of Broadway’s “The Lion King.”  Fake Off airs on truTV Monday nights at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).
