His Nashville, TN based AfterTouch Music,Inc is the culmination of his vision and a lifetime of work with the goal of providing an alternative avenue for artists to bring their music to life and to the world.
“I truly do believe that music is for the soul and should come from the depths of who we are…from the core. The mind isn’t deep enough, neither is the heart. To inspire it must come from the soul.” –Roger Ryan
Roger introduces his freshman roster of diverse artists from genres of Pop, Gospel, Jazz, Latin and R&B. The AfterTouch Music, Inc roster includes: Melody, Root Road and Delois Massey. His stellar lineup of artists have all released new singles on digital outlets and have new projects forthcoming that are produced by Roger.
Melody provides an eloquently beautiful vocal over a lush string arrangement on her new single “Unexpected Love”. “Unexpected Love” is a tribute to her older brother and sister in-law and tells of the story of their beginnings in love. You will find her genuine in her music and a beauty in her voice that will soothe and challenge you. Her musical performance will surprise you as her mastery of the sax demonstrates a cross between Cannonball Adderly, Paquito D’Rivera, and Kenny G.
Being of Puerto Rican/Mexican decent, Melody grew up listening to many different Latin artists and through that upbringing now merges pop, jazz and soul into her vibrant style of music. Her musical skills increased in college where she began as an Oboe Performance major, but changed direction to Jazz Studies with a focus on saxophone and voice studies. Though educated in music, Melody captures the true and sincere soul of music not just its academic theories.
Root Road’s clever fusion of pop, soul and Rock & Roll with a Christ centered message provides a refreshing alternative that is both entertaining and encouraging. The group writes optimistic songs that provide an alternative to popular music that is normally birthed out of negative feelings, broken relationships, and selfish behavior. Root Road’s heartwarming, God-inspired lyrics convey a positive outlook on life with songs about unfailing love, hope, peace and answers to life’s many problems.
Root Road consists of three biological brothers: John, the oldest, plays rhythm guitar, shares lead vocals and introduces modern rock influences to the mix. Anthony supports the group with backup vocals and catchy keyboard, piano, and organ instrumentation. Nathaniel, the youngest, plays harmonica and tambourine and injects everything from a retro soul to a playful pop. He also shares the lead vocals with John. The brothers will be releasing a new project COME ALIVE first quarter of 2015.
Delois Massey’s first single, “Warrior”, is an up-tempo soulful battle cry that combines Massey’s powerful vocals and Roger Ryan’s profound and majestic instrumentation. “Warrior” also features the dominating presence of Gospel Reggae singer Dunamis who lends his urban flair on the track and companion music video.
Delois is currently the worship pastor at Fit For The Kingdom Ministry in South Bend, Indiana. Along with her husband, Steve G. Nkosi, Delois founded One Voice Praise Community Choir and Nations of Praise of South Bend. They have served and continue to work with many different ministries including Kingdom Seekers Out Reach Ministry and Michiana International Night of Worship.
