Percy Gray, Jr. to be Honored in Chicago During his 60th Birthday Celebration

Sixty years ago, the world was introduced to and blessed with a dynamic and anointed songwriter, producer and singer, whose music would transcend generations to come.  For over 40 years, the legendary, Percy E. Gray, Jr. has inspired and encouraged millions, with his award winning music; and, on Saturday, November 18th, he will be honored during his 60th Birthday Celebration in Chicago, Illinois.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Percy E. Gray Jr. is a Stellar Award Winner and Grammy and Dove Nominee, who is ranked among the nation’s most outstanding Gospel music producers and songwriters.  This most sought after, singer, songwriter and producer, has a growing list of impressive credits in the gospel community that include gospel greats such as the late Milton Brunson, Jessie Dixon, Albertina Walker, Rev. Clay Evans, the late Orlando Draper, Beverly Crawford, Mississippi Mass Choir, Shirley Caesar, Dorinda Clark, New Direction, The Chicago Mass Choir, and Joshua’s Troop just to name a few.

Percy Gray has been performing Gospel Music since he was 7 years old and wrote his first song, “I Came to Jesus” at the age of 15. This “Living Legend” has written more than 400 songs and has also, provided opportunities to many up and coming young musicians and vocalists, allowing them a platform to take their careers to the next level.

On Saturday, November 18th, Percy E. Gray, Jr. will be honored during his 60th Birthday Celebration at Freedom Temple Church of God in Christ, 1459 W. 74th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60636, Host Pastor, Elder Billy J. Ellis.  The 60th Birthday Celebration will include music performances by, Chicago Mass Choir, New Direction, Joshua’s Troop, Tony Tidwell and UnCommon Favor and more.  The celebration will begin at 7PM and admission is free.

Percy E. Gray, Jr. is truly a “Living Legend”, who has blessed people throughout the world with his anointed and uplifting music. With God at the helm, Percy prays, listens for wisdom, and then uses that wisdom to go forth with vigor to do God’s mission.
