Anybody having a battle with fear? Is there something you know the Lord has called you to do, or something you know you need to do or would like to do, but every time you try, the fear stops you in your tracks? We all struggle with a spirit of fear at some time or another in our lives. I know in my own experience, I have had to deal with that spirit many times, until I heard something that really impacted my life. It is my desire, beloved, that this will help you as much as it has helped me.
One day I was listening to Joyce Meyer, and she said, “Why not do it afraid?” If we wait until the fear is gone, we may be waiting a long time. We may miss what God is calling us to or miss that opportunity that is poised and ready for us to take hold of. Instead of working on the fear, work on “doing it afraid.” Doing it in spite of; do it right alongside of. You will find that the more you challenge the spirit of fear and go forth anyway, it will begin to lose its hold on you.
Remember Philippians 4:13 in the Amplified Bible says, “I have strength for all things in Christ who empowers me (I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency).
In Isaiah 41:10, the Lord tells us, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
So, my brother and my sister, as you go about your week, just step out and find out, and you will see God’s mighty power working in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure. Go ahead; do it afraid. The victory is yours!
God loves you.
I love you.
