Legendary Singer, Pianist Nina Simone’s Great Nephew to Release Here Is My Worship Featuring Popular Vocal Group The Cry

International House of Prayer (IHOPKC) worship artist Jaye Thomas will release his much anticipated solo project, Here Is My Worship, September 9, 2014. Thomas has been a household name among the IHOPKC community since moving to Kansas City in 2008 and is well known for his many original songs that have been featured on various Forerunner Music compilations and Onething Live albums. Through his leadership in worship and excellence in music, Thomas follows in the footsteps of a long line of ministers in his family, as well as those of his great-aunt and renowned blues legend, Nina Simone.

Here Is My Worship is a collection of heartfelt gospel and worship songs. The album was recorded live during IHOPKC’s annual Onething conference where more than 25,000 young adults gathered for extended times of worship, Bible teaching and ministry in downtown Kansas City. Accompanying Thomas’powerful vocals on every track is The Cry, a dynamic vocal ensemble.

This project is Thomas’ first full-length album since his debut effort, PRAY, released during his stint as worship pastor at a church in North Florida, fresh from a season of studying jazz at Duke University.

“I want this album to be more than just a listening album; I want it to be a worship experience for people,”Thomas says. “My greatest hope for a listener who hears the album would be that they would actually experience intimacy with Jesus.”

In addition to leading worship at IHOPKC, Thomas will be a guest worship leader at a variety of conferences throughout the remainder of 2014. For more information, visit www.jayethomas.com.
