JEKALYN CARR NETS FIRST GRAMMY® NOMINATION FOR “BEST GOSPEL PERFORMANCE/SONG” FOR HER BILLBOARD #1 BONAFIDE HIT SINGLE “YOU’RE BIGGER”

2016 has been a banner year for Lunjeal Music Group recording artist Jekalyn Carr. It has just been announced, by THE RECORDING ACADEMY® that Carr has received a GRAMMY® nomination in the category of Best Gospel Performance/Song for her Billboard #1 bonafide hit single, “You’re Bigger.”This is Carr’s first GRAMMY® nomination, and it caps off a remarkable year of firsts for the 19 year old prophetic powerhouse singer. Carr’s single “You’re Bigger” hit #1 on the Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart on September 14th. The single spent four non-consecutive weeks at #1 and twenty-three consecutive weeks in the Top 2. Her album THE LIFE PROJECT, also debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart and has remained in the Top 20 position since its debut. In addition, “You’re Bigger” hit #1 on the Billboard’s Digital Songs chart (digital downloads) four non-consecutive weeks. Carr’s song also climbed on Billboard’s Adult R&B Radio Airplay charts peaking at #31 with a #1 “New & Active” bullet.

Most recently Carr has appeared and/or performed her single on national platforms including, BET”s new inspirational show “Joyful Noise” hosted by Tye Tribbett, TV One’s Triumph Awards, the Black Music Honors tributing the legendary Shirley Caesar and recently made an appearance on “News One Now with Roland Martin” (TV One).

Jekalyn is also nominated for the upcoming Stellar Gospel Music Awards with seven nominations. She is nominated in the final round for Artist of the Year, Song of the Year for “You’re Bigger,” Female Vocalist of the Year, Producer of the Year, Traditional Female of the Year, Recorded Music Packaging of the Year, and Praise & Worship CD of the Year for “The Life Project”.
