Music can change things. Music change people. Certainly, it has helped gifted Gospel singer and songwriter, Desiree Coleman-Jackson get through some tough times. Now with a new name (which signifies the banner of God’s grace and majesty), KADESH is sharing positive messages of hope through her own music, in order to help people who have been broken and are searching for healing.
Kadesh is the wife of former NBA superstar Mark Jackson (former coach of the Golden State Warriors and current commentator for ESPN). Beyond that, she is a Gospel singer…, and she sings well.
Kadesh’s voice is powerful and impressive, and with the release of her hit single “Strip,” from the upcoming album LOVE, she is making her presence known in the Gospel music industry, and helping to change lives.
“Strip” is a beautiful melody that is based on a difficult time in Kadesh’s life. The song is a tune that brings a fresh perspective to the message of, “Come to God just as you are,” and lay your burdens at His feet.
“It was a real experience I went through,” Kadesh says. “I basically had to remove myself from the emotions that blocked me… and tried to keep me from moving forward.” In the process, nevertheless, what she has learned from the bad experiences, is that God can take bad things and work them for good.
With the release of “Strip,” Kadesh is optimistic that her music will help encourage people, that they too can conquer life’s challenges in the midst of their troubles.
The message in the song is a clear one: “…I’ll just strip and confess things do get bad. Take off my pride and put it in His hands. Strip…show my heart, all of my scars, so someone else will know that He’s still God…”
It is a positive message of inspiration and reassurance, which delivers a desperate call for a return to love and peace in the world, where there is so much negativity.
Beyond the music, Kadesh and her husband Mark Jackson co-pastor at the church they founded in August 2009 (True Love Worship Center International), in Reseda, California. Additionally, Kadesh organized an empowerment program LADIES IN DESTINY which mentors women, teaching and encouraging them to tap into their inner selves by exploring and pursuing the progressive talents that lie dormant and untapped inside them.
