Chicago’s Famed Tommies Are Set To Do It Again

During the 80s and 90s, one choir dominated the charts setting the standard for the authentic Chicago Gospel sound.  Under the guidance of Reverend Milton Brunson, the Tommies provided the contemporary Gospel songbook with the songs that people sung everywhere, including timeless treasures such as Safe in His Arms, There Is No Way, For the Good of Them, My Mind’s Made Up, Jesus Is a Rock, Great Things, He’s Still Good, Over and Over, Rest for the Weary, Crown of Life, Cleansed by the Blood, The Holy Ghost, Lord, I’m Available to You, He’ll Make It Alright, If I Be Lifted, Jesus Rose, God’s Got It, Lord I Believe, and He Cares for You,

On August 29th, this legendary choir is set to make a new mark in history with their live CD and DVD recording taking place at the New Faith Baptist Church in the Chicago suburb of Matteson, Illinois.  The Tommies Reunion makes its re entry with the Dream Team of award winning songwriters and musicians that include Darius Brooks, Percy Bady, Steve Huff, Kevin Brunson, Tyrone Block, Al Willis and Richard Gibbs along with many of the original lead vocalists and a new crop of amazingly talented singers.  Among the special guests sharing this historic night will be the Father of Contemporary Gospel Music, the incomparable Edwin Hawkins.

Sensing the pulse of the nation, the Tommies Reunion believes they are answering the call of God’s divine purpose and plan.  Our communities are hurting and we want to aid in the healing process through music, the universal language. This new project has been long awaited  but this is the time God has given us to share the message through the music to touch the hearts of the nation and the world.
