Tiff Joy delivers again. This time, the Stellar Award winner and Chicago native partnered with fellow Chicagoan and award-winning producer/artist, VaShawn Mitchell to release her 12-track self-titled debut album, TIFF JOY – under Walkway Music Group/VMan Entertainment and Tyscot records.
Quietly, Tiff Joy has made a name for herself behind the scenes of the Gospel music industry by collaborating with gospel greats such as Anita Wilson, VaShawn Mitchell and Fred Hammond. Her biggest achievement to date has come as a result of her songwriting skills… most notably as the songwriter for Ricky Dillard’s 2014 Song of the Year, “Amazing.”
Each track on Tiff Joy’s new project is unique in its own way. “The Promise,” her first single, is a beautiful song of purpose that encourages people to remain confident and to keep their childlike trust in God. God is faithful and will keep His promises. The song shows the depths of Tiff Joy’s vocal mastery, and demonstrates her incredible talent for weaving the diverse Gospel music sounds of the moment, into songs that don’t end up feeling imitative.
“You Are” is an uplifting tune that shows Tiff Joy’s prowess for putting together lyrics and melodies that are catchy and authentic, yet still being able to resonate with her audience.
“All That You Do” is a smooth ballad that reverences God’s creative majesty. The vocal harmony is beautiful in this song. It proclaims, “We stand in awe of all that You do. Simply amazing… breathtaking, are You.”
There are several other strong tracks on the project like, “Oh How We Love You,” a high energy tune that will fit well with worship teams on Sunday mornings. Also, VaShawn Mitchell adds a powerful narrative on the song, “Hope.” “Hope” seeks to bring encouragement and inspiration to people who might be experiencing a rough period in life. It says, “Where there’s life, there is hope… doubt and fear can walk out the door.”
Last but not least, the project features a very different but equally moving version of Tiff Joy’s breakthrough hit “Amazing.” The new rendition is somewhat different from the original arrangement, as she transforms the rhythm from a mid-tempo vibe into a more sophisticated vocal approach.
