Our World With Black Enterprise will highlight 25-year film and television industry veteran/award-winning producer and studio executive, Tammy Williams, the first black woman to open a studio and post-production facility, Open Rivers Pictures (ORP), in the state of Georgia, Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 10AM ET on TV One. Located in the Pinewood Atlanta Production Center, ORP is a company with production and post-production operations attracting filmmakers and made-for-television productions. Through their film academy they offer production assistant workshops, classes in content marketing, distribution, script writing and basic acting.
ORP has also worked on live productions including the Trumpet Awards and The Stellar Awards. In addition, they recently completed production on Sesame Street that will air in February 2015.
Williams is a former writer/producer for television networks including, WSMV-TV (CBS-Nashville, TN) and WDSU-TV (NBC-New Orleans).
In addition to providing entertainment, ORP is dedicated to educating and building communities. Their summer internship program is designed for students to walk away with a wider perspective of filmmaking and production, and with the supplies needed to make their dreams come true. They also recently launched their Film Academy offering classes in film, television and digital media. Fall classes include on-camera acting for adults, improv for kids, and film distribution and producing digital content.
