A&R 101: Tracy Williamson – “The Art of Songwriting”

  • A&R101Live: For Artists who are songwriters and those who are working with them, let’s set a goal to create and record timeless music!
  •  Take your songwriting serious; don’t rush the process, set a goal for the melody to stick with the listener.
  •  If it’s a song of praise, worship or declaration, make sure the music is not the total opposite of its theme. Try not to take the listener on an emotional roller-coaster. Yes this takes work and it will help to produce timeless music.
  •  Study the art of songwriting, just because you have a few hits, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t continue to educate yourself.
  •  If the timing doesn’t feel right, don’t force the song to be released. Many hit songs were written years before they were released.
  •  Words impact lives, keep this in mind when developing lyrics to your songs. Engage the listeners, invite them in, touch their hearts & leave them with a timeless musical message and or melody. #TIMELESSMUSIC
