A&R 101: Tracy Williamson – Taking Care Of Business

Hey Artists!  If God blessed you with the gift, make sure you properly handle what HE’s given.

• You should take proper care of your voice, but you should also keep good accounting records of your CD sales from events.

• For Indie Artists who are Courted by a label: Present “Actual” numbers for CD sales. Saying, “I sold a couple 1000”, isn’t attractive.

• This may sound trivial, but consumers do watch how money is being “handled” as you sell product while on the road.

• Lastly, here is a tip for Indie & National Artists: Don’t buy more product than you can sell. Pace yourself mentally & financially.
