A&R 101: Tracy Williamson – Finding the Right Label for Your Style of Music

Tracy’s Thoughts for Artists

  • Artists, did you know the “Courting” period for an Artist and Record Company is similar to “Courtship” in a natural relationship?
  • Yes Artists, it’s true, both parties are gathering and reviewing information to see if they will be a good combination. Don’t rush this process.
  • Yes the label has a great team, distribution, track record; but can they promote your music? Do they support your vision?
  • Some things are not obvious, and you should meet with the label’s team more than once. This is bigger than a Marketing plan.
